Adoption Education

As part of our adoption process, our agency requires all their adoptive families to complete a service plan before they travel to get their baby. The service plan is basically a list of goals specifically tailored for us to help us prepare for the arrival of Yu-Lin. The educational component of our service plan includes watching a 10 hour educational dvd prepared by our agency, reading two books on adoption, attend a parenting class, and attend an infant CPR class. Even though we haven't received our educational dvds yet (hope they get here soon), we did complete the two books we were required to read and wrote a book report on it. Through these books and other materials, we know we have some of the tools we need to be the best parents we can be to Yu-Lin. We begin parenting classes tomorrow...wish us newbie parents luck!
