Woo hoo..we are finally off to the races. Run Ruthie Run (by the way, this is one of our miniature daschunds running to her dad that we thought was appropriate for this posting...isn't she cute?) After we accepted Yu-Lin's referral on June 28th, we received a Fedex packet from our agency with all our official adoption documents to have signed, notarized, and authenticated. What is authentication you ask? Well after we signed and notarized the documents, we had to take it to the circuit court to have the court clerk certify that the notary was a notary authorized to notarize documents in Hawaii, then the documents along with the circuit court seal of approval had to go to the Lt. Governor’s office for him to certify that the circuit court clerk is authorized to certify documents in Hawaii. Then, the documents had to be delivered to the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office (TECO) to certify that all these documents are approved to be sent to Taiwan. Wow lau lau. We prayed that none of the documents would get lost!!! We Fedex’d all the documents to our agency on July 11th. Hooray! Fedex is amazing because all our doucments were received by our agency on July 12th and then FedEx to Taiwan on July 13th. Our agency says that the documents take about 3 days to arrive in Taiwan and then another 2 days for everything to be submitted to their district court to officially begin the adoption process in Taiwan (more on this later). Thanks for all your continued prayers...keep them coming!! God is bound to hear at least one of us :)
By the way, ever wonder what all those "official" looking buildings were on Pali Hwy? Now you know, one of them is the TECO office pictured below
