We have a First Ruling!

We are very excited to share that our first ruling was issued on September 3rd! Woo hoo. Looks like we were blessed with a quick judge. As a refresher, we had our court hearing on August 22nd. After the hearing, the judge usually takes 1-3 mos. to issue their first ruling. Well, if you do the math, ours came in just under 2 weeks. Wow..that was fast. Even our agency said that it was really fast. After the first ruling, the court can't do anything for 10 days to allow Yu-Lin's birth family one last time to change their mind. And again, if you do the math, that day passed a couple of days ago in Taiwan with no news. Yippee. Can you sense the slight excitement we feel at the moment. So now we are waiting for the court to issue our final ruling which makes Yu-Lin officially our son. The final ruling is typically entered 4-6 weeks after the first ruling and then we travel. We are hoping to travel by the end of next month. Wow!!!!

We have been quite the busy little beavers lately preparing for our new addition. Nesting has set in full swing for Kristie who feels the need to clean out every closet in the house (not sure why all the closets in the house need to be clean), but if it makes her happy, go right ahead. We also completed our infant cpr class, are making a couple final touches to the nursery, got our car seat, baby carrier, stroller, inflatable baby tub, lots of clothes and some toys so we are good to go. Yippee. All we need is Yu-Lin.
