First Day of Sightseeing

Fion picked us up at 10:00 a.m. this morning which was fine since we were up since 6:00 a.m. anyway (guess we were still on Hawaii time). When Fion picked us up she had our itinerary of activities planned out for the entire trip...wow and even planned in scheduled breaks so we could relax a bit. How sweet. So the plan for today was to go to Gaundu Temple, National Palace Museum, and Shilin Night market. We had a wonderful day (a tad tired), but just a great time. The Gaundu Temple was fascinating, the National Palace Museum is a must see if you come to Taiwan, and the Shilin Night Market was an experience not to be missed. We even tried some authentic Taiwanese food which we enjoyed except for the stinky tofu (guess this is an acquired taste just like eating poi). Here are some pictures from today.

One of things we find fascinating is to see all the folks driving mopeds (or scooters as they are called here). Boy you gotta see it to believe..it is amazing that there aren't as many accidents here with the way they drive. Additionally, you should see how many people they fit on a scooter. Here is a picture of 3 people, but we did see one with 4, but couldn't get our camera out in time to snap it.

Just linked to your blog from Sherry's...I'm so excited for you. We're also a JOH family and brought our new daughter home in March, and also stayed at the Agora on Sherry's recommendation. Your son is adorable, and you've had the fastest court process I've ever heard of--wow! Hope you have a wonderful time sightseeing, and I can't wait to read about you meeting your son!

Good morning! I just got up (Hawaii time is almost 10:00 a.m.) and came straight to your blog! I see that it's almost four in the morning there according to the clock that you have on your blog. Wonder if you guys are up or sleeping?? I was very thrilled (Grant too as we read it together) to see you've updated it already. Miss you guys and its so weird to see you are really all the way over there in Taiwan! Can't wait to see you guys and baby!! Have fun, be safe, and take care! Love you all! ~Rochelle~
P.S. Grant wanted me to say "hello" and that he enjoyed the pictures! It was the first time he saw Yu-Lin too :)

Wow! Looks like you are having a great time. Kristie even has time to post pics and update the blog. Sorry about suggesting the stinky tofu.

I think it is finally hitting me too. After reading this recent update, I finally realized I'm going to be an Uncle again. It brought tears to my eyes thinking that the next time I see you two, you are going to be a family of three (but actually five).

Aunty V says "hi" (I'm sure she would say that, but guess what she's doing now..... sleeping of course). Mickey is sleeping next to me, but woke up and told me to tell you folks "ruff ruff".

Take care and try to get some rest before your BIG day. We are extremely happy for you two. God has really blessed all of us with Maik..... I mean Yu Lin.
